Mr. Shrivastav is an investment banker and entrepreneur based in Silicon Valley, California. He has a deep understanding of the business and the political climate in the United States, India and Nepal. He has covered consumer staples, finance and technology companies for JPMorgan, Johan Hekelaar, Uma Ventures and other investment banks. He has advised companies on transactions of all sizes including high yield debt, mezzanine financing, placement of equity securities as well as M&A buy-side and sell-side mandates. He works closely with the portfolio companies in all aspects including product development, formulation and execution of overall business strategies.

Tim Gocher

Chairman and Founder, Dolma Fund

Tim is a finance executive with a background in energy and technology, and is also CEO of Dolma Impact Fund – an international investment fund building businesses and jobs in Nepal. He is also Honorary Professor of Sustainable Business at The University of Nottingham. After nine years at Deloitte and J.P. Morgan, and an MBA from London Business School, Tim became Managing Director at listed investment bank Interregnum plc. He is an expert in raising and deploying private capital for sustainable poverty alleviation, technology clusters and Special Economic Zones. He has advised governments, sovereign wealth funds and private developers around the world, including in China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Portugal and US.

David Dhillon

Managing Director, DSD Strategies

David specializes in governmental affairs, political campaigns, lobbying, and public relations. David’s experience in government began at the early age of 23 when he was elected councilman for the City of El Centro. He served on the council for 16 years and later became the Mayor of the city. Throughout his career David has taught Government and Economics to high school students, served as Director of Catholic Charities of Imperial Valley, and was appointed Marketing Manager for the California State Fair and Exposition by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. David has recently worked as a government affairs strategist for health care facilities and employment agencies in search of health care professionals in the United States and abroad. In addition, he developed a campaign to bring national awareness to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress.

Mahabir Pun

Founder, Nepal Wireless Networking Project

Mahabir Pun first dreamed of connecting his village of Nangi to the internet in 1997, and has been working ever since to bring the internet to rural Nepal. Mahabir was born in Nangi, and completed his primary education there. After working as a teacher for several years, he completed a master's degree in education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Mahabir has constructed computer labs at several schools in the area and planned out the entire Nepal Wireless network. He was elected Ashoka Fellow in 2002 by Ashoka Foundation. Mr Pun was given Overall Social Innovations Award for 2004 the Institute for Social Inventions based in UK. The Ramon Magsaysay Foundation of the Philipinnes awarded Mr Pun Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2007 for Community Leadership. University of Nebraska, his Alma Mater, invited him for winter commencement speech and awarded Honorary Degree, Doctor of Humane Letters in December 2007 for his outstanding work for his country.

Ram Krishna Pokhrel

Executive Director, Citizen Investment Trust of Nepal

Mr. Pokharel has a wide range of experience of working development and financial sectors. Mr. Pokharel started his career from Agriculture Development Bank in seventies and took leadership role in Biogas Company and Rural Microfinance Bank Ltd. Currently, he is at the helm of affairs of Citizen Investment Trust which mobilizes assets worth USD 850 million and has trust of over six hundred thousand unit holders. He has been actively working for setting up new investment avenues for CIT and diversifying its business through setting of stock dealer and market maker operations. Prior to joining CIT, he worked as a Project Manager of UNDP funded project in Afghanistan and as National Programme Manager of Decentralised Local Governance Support Programme UNDP/Nepal. The blend of experiences in financial and development sectors has uniquely positioned him to provide a visionary leadership role to CIT.

Uruj Perwaiz

Former Public Affairs Officer, United States Department of Homeland Security

Uruj Perwaiz conducts media and public relations for government and development programs. She supported media and public relations at the Department of Homeland Security. She was the Public Affairs Officer assigned at the US Embassies in Kabul, Afghanistan and Islamabad, Pakistan. She has executed nationwide outreach campaigns; development of communications material and drafting speeches for government officials. She is fluent in Urdu and Hindi, with language skills in Arabic and Farsi. She has an international and multicultural background, including extensive travel in over 52 countries across Central & South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. She has worked across North Africa, the Middle East, and Central & South Asia. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism & Anthropology from the University of Houston in 2005 and an MBA in International Business from the University of Houston in 2014. She completed a Research Fellowship in Counter Terrorism in 2015.

Anup has a practicing experience of more than 12 years in commercial law. Anup regularly advises clients on diverse transactional matters ranging from foreign investment, project finance to private equity. He is also involved in commercial litigation on behalf of various local and international clients. Anup has also been involved in legal reform projects covering banking and finance, corporate, insolvency and hydropower laws.
